ChefPair is operated by TJS Innovations LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the ChefPair mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

By using ChefPair, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account and using the Service:

• Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password.
• Profile Information: Dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences you choose to share.
• Location Information: Service addresses you save, including kitchen amenity details and arrival instructions.
• Payment Information: Payment card details are collected and processed securely by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
• Communications: Messages exchanged with chefs through the in-app chat feature, and any correspondence with our support team.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, search queries, and booking history.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Connect you with chefs and facilitate bookings
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations
• Send verification codes via SMS to confirm your phone number
• Communicate with you about bookings, reminders, and service updates
• Improve and personalize your experience on the Service
• Ensure the safety and security of the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With Chefs: When you make a booking, relevant details (your name, service address, guest count, dietary needs, and arrival instructions) are shared with the assigned chef to fulfill your booking.
• Service Providers: We work with third-party service providers (payment processing, SMS delivery, hosting, analytics) who access your data only to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
• Safety: We may share information when we believe it is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of ChefPair, our users, or the public.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and row-level security on our database. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information after account deletion as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as dispute resolution.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

• Access and update your personal information through the app's profile settings
• Delete your account by contacting our support team
• Opt out of promotional emails while continuing to receive transactional communications related to your bookings
• Opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP at any time

7. SMS/Text Messaging

When you provide your phone number during account registration, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from ChefPair. We use your phone number to send:

• Verification codes — one-time passcodes to verify your phone number during registration or login
• Booking confirmations — when a chef accepts your booking request
• Booking reminders — before your scheduled chef experience
• Status updates — for booking modifications, cancellations, or other time-sensitive changes

Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to consent to SMS messages in order to use ChefPair or make a booking.

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@chefpair.com.

We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your phone number is shared with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) solely for the purpose of delivering the messages described above. For more information, see Section 3 (Information Sharing).

8. Children's Privacy

ChefPair is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or by sending you a notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
