Terms of Service

Effective Date: March 26, 2026

Welcome to ChefPair. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChefPair mobile application and website (the "Service"), operated by TJS Innovations LLC ("ChefPair," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

ChefPair is a marketplace platform that connects consumers ("you" or "Consumers") with independent private chefs ("Chefs") for in-home dining experiences. ChefPair facilitates the connection and transaction between Consumers and Chefs but does not directly provide culinary services. Chefs are independent contractors, not employees of ChefPair.

2. Account Registration

To use ChefPair, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information including your name, email address, and phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.

We verify your phone number via SMS during registration. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from ChefPair including verification codes, booking confirmations, reminders, and service updates. Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. You may opt out at any time by texting STOP. Text HELP for assistance, or contact us at support@chefpair.com.

3. Bookings and Payments

When you book a chef through ChefPair, you agree to pay the full booking amount at the time of booking. All payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. You must have a valid payment method on file to make a booking.

Booking prices include the cost of the chef's services and a platform fee charged by ChefPair. Applicable taxes may also be included. The total amount will be clearly displayed before you confirm your booking.

4. Cancellation Policy

ChefPair maintains a cancellation policy to protect both Consumers and Chefs:

Refund amounts are based on the total amount charged. For complete details, please see our Cancellation Policy.

5. Your Responsibilities

As a Consumer, you agree to:

6. Chef Responsibilities

Chefs on ChefPair are required to maintain valid general liability insurance, food safety certifications, and comply with all applicable local health and safety regulations. ChefPair verifies these requirements during the chef onboarding process.

7. Reviews and Ratings

After a completed booking, you may leave a rating for your chef. Reviews must be honest and based on your actual experience. ChefPair reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines, contain abusive language, or are otherwise inappropriate.

8. Intellectual Property

The ChefPair name, logo, and all related content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by TJS Innovations LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

ChefPair acts as a marketplace facilitator. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by Chefs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefPair shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or any interaction with a Chef.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute related to a booking, please contact our support team first. We will work to resolve issues between Consumers and Chefs. If we are unable to resolve a dispute informally, you agree that any claims shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, with proceedings held in St. Louis, Missouri.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any conduct that we determine to be harmful to the platform, other users, or Chefs.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms within the app or sending you a notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
